The Ottawa Food Truck Rally and CreativeMornings Ottawa teams caught up with Chef Ben Baird, Urban Pear, at his new food truck the Ottawa Streat Gourmet. Chef Ben Baird talks about the “u-turn” that ignited his idea to craft his culinary creations in a kitchen on wheels and shows us how to make one of his signature lamb tacos!

The 1st Annual Ottawa Food Truck Rally (OFTR) will be taking place on Saturday, September 28th 2013. This afternoon food event will feature a number of Ottawa food trucks in culinary competition with one another. Best part of the event – it supports a scholarship for an Ottawa Community Housing tenant wanting to attend the Culinary Arts program at Algonquin.

The OFTR will be a great event for all attending, filled with food, fun and entertainment. This is a chance for everyone to tantalize their palates with various foods from Ottawa food trucks as well as help support a local youth in their pursuit of future education in the field. It’s not every day you get to experience one food truck let alone a few all in one place!
